Cache Valley Virus (CVV) infection results in significant viremia, morbidity, and mortality in 6-week-old IFN-αβR-/- mice. Six-week-old mice (CVV 4B n = 14, CVV W08491 n = 14, PBS n = 13) were challenged subcutaneously with 104 plaque forming units (PFU) of virus, and (a) survival and (b) weight change measured daily for 14 days post infection (DPI). (c) Viremia was measured on 1–4 DPI, and organ titers for spleen, kidney, brain, liver, ovary/testes, heart and lung were measured on (d) 3 DPI and (e) 5 DPI. Each data point plotted represents the mean values and error bars indicate standard deviation. The limit of detection (LOD) is indicated with a dotted line. Statistical significance among groups were analysed by log-rank (Mantel-Cox) test in (a), and a mixed effects analysis with a Dunnett's multiple comparison test in (b–e). Statistically significant values are denoted by * (p < 0.05).
