Type Considerations
Thrombolysis

  • Priority therapy

  • rTPA 10 mg (bolus), followed by 90 mg in 2 hours OR Streptokinase 500,000 IU in 20 minutes, followed by 1,500,000 IU in 10 hours
Valve surgery

  • Reserved for cases with high risk of hemorrhagic or embolic complications associated with thrombolysis
