Indispensability of arginine finger for ATP hydrolysis. The ATPase activities of WT gp16 and its mutants Walker A (G27D), Walker B (E119A), and arginine finger (R146A) were measured by fluorometry. The fluorescent signals which represent the ATPase activity were measured every 30 min after mixing. The results were normalized to the ATPase activity of WT gp16 after 120 min.
