Patients with both markers below their respective cut-offs achieved a statistically significant longer PFS compared to patients with at least one marker above its prognostic cut-off (8.3 months [6.4–16.4] in patients with miR-21 ratio ≤1.64 fc and AFP ≤7.5 ng/mL vs. 3.3 months [2.5–6.0] in the comparator group; p = 0.001); (b) survival curves of AFP alone in patients with CR and PR. Despite demonstrating a longer median PFS, patients with AFP ≤7.5 ng/mL had not a statistically significant higher survival compared to patients with AFP <7.5 ng/mL (7.2 months [4.1–13.3] vs. 4.1 months [2.6–9.7], respectively; p = 0.12).
