Scores: 0 = absent, 1 = mild, 2 = moderate, 3 = severe. Interpretation: (a) Scores above 6 points on the total scale indicate clinical status. (b) If scores are obtained in only one of the subscales, it is indicative of predominant manic symptoms or depressive symptoms, respectively. (c) If scores are obtained in both subscales, it suggests significant mixed symptoms. (d) A state of euthymia requires not exceeding the cut-off point of 6 points on the scale.
