Lysophosphatidic acid responses in human cancers. LPA binds to LPARs 1–6 as well as to other non-GPCR receptors. These receptors can mediate the proliferation, migration, and survival of cancer cells as well as other tumor phenomena such as angiogenesis and progression. The green box lists signal transduction events, discussed in this review, that occur downstream of LPAR activation.
