The number of participants who fulfilled each of the classic criteria for paediatric ME/CFS [36,37] for 3 or more months at baseline and follow-up (n = 17):(1) unexplained, persistent fatigue that is unrelated to exertion and not alleviated by rest, and represents a substantial reduction in previous functioning (criterion 1A, B, C), (2) post-exertional malaise (criterion 2), (3) sleep problems (criterion 3), (4) pain (criterion 4), (5) two or more neurocognitive problems (criterion 5), and (6) autonomic, immune, and/or neuroendocrine problems (criterion 6).
