2‐arm placebo‐controlled randomised trial. |
| Participants |
Women aged 18 years or older presenting with threatened miscarriage and a live intrauterine pregnancy with a gestational age less than 10 weeks. Women with a pregnancy as a result of Assisted Reproductive Technologies will be excluded. |
| Interventions |
Progesterone pessary 400 mg nightly, until 12 weeks' gestation versus placebo. |
| Outcomes |
Live birth, complete miscarriage, gestation at birth, birthweight, congenital abnormality, antepartum haemorrhage. |
