Participants	Mothers with children age 6 to 14 with depression (based on Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression ‐ HRSD) in a low‐income primary care setting
Interventions	Intervention Interpersonal therapy counselling for 3 weeks Control Enhanced treatment as usual
Outcomes	1. Psychiatric symptoms in children of depressed mothers (based on Child Behavior Checklist) 2. Change in maternal depressive symptoms (HRSD score) 3. Remission of maternal depression (HRSD ≤ 7) 4. Response of maternal depression (decrease ≥ 50% of baseline HRSD score)
