Participants | 135 patients (≥ 65 years) scheduled for total endoprosthetic hip |
Interventions | Group 1: acupuncture Group 2: control (no treatment) |
Outcomes | Primary outcome: incidence of postoperative delirium after total hip joint replacement at 24 hours and 48 hours postoperatively using the CAM for intensive care units. Secondary outcome: activity of acetylcholinesterase (ACHE) and butyrylcholinesterase (BCHE) in the blood, Determination TNFa, NSE, S‐100 ß protein, Epigenetic markers such as DNA methylation, acetylation, and histone modifications, hospital length of stay. All measured 4 times (during premedication, directly postoperatively, first and second postoperatively) |
