Participants | 510 eligible patients, 214 males and 296 females enrolled in the study. All patients more than 12 years of age. Patients with perforated appendix, treated with antibiotics for other disease and patients undergoing additional procedure were excluded before randomisation. | |
Interventions | Treatment group: Tinidazole 2 mg/ ml 200 ml topical peroperatively. Placebo group: Saline 200 ml topical peroperatively. | |
