Table 3.

Differences in glucose concentrations in individuals with high PFHxS levels (2.0 ng/dL) vs. individuals with low PFHxS levels during a 2-h oral glucose tolerance test in n=310 overweight and obese adolescents recruited from Southern California between 2001 and 2012 (SOLAR cohort) and in n=135 young adults recruited from Southern California between 2014 and 2018 (CHS cohort).

Note: Results are displayed as the difference and 95% confidence interval between individuals with high (2.0 ng/dL) and low PFHxS levels at baseline. Estimates were calculated at the median age and BMI for each Tanner stage using linear mixed effects models. Estimates were corrected for socioeconomic status, and for the SOLAR study, recruitment wave. BMI, body mass index; CHS, Children’s Health Study; PFHxS, perfluorohexane sulfonic acid; SOLAR, Study of Latino Adolescents at Risk of Type 2 Diabetes.
