Graphical summary of the role of IRS2 in hypoxia-induced pulmonary hypertension (PH). Our data suggest that IRS2 dysfunction enhances the Akt and ERK pathway and then leads to macrophage activation, which may intensify the vascular remodeling and right ventricular hypertrophy that are seen in PH pathology.
