After binding to FPR2, RvD1 can promote cell survival by calcium release, Erk1/2 and PI3K/Akt signaling activation or blocking the TNF-α signaling as well as caspase-3 activity. RvD1 could also promote bcl-xL expression, leading to cell survival. Interaction with FPR2 negatively regulates downstream IRAK1/TRAF6/NF-κB or MAPKs signaling pathways.
