Experimental design. Mice were divided into the following 4 groups according to injected solutions at day 0 and 14; OA flare (MIA + MC), OA (MIA + PBS), MC non-OA (PBS + MC), and PBS non-OA (PBS + PBS) (experiment 1). Furthermore, in OA flare, the mice were divided into 2 groups depending on the tranilast injection (T ( +), T (-)) (experiment 2). Pain behavior was measured at specific timing of days 0, 7, 14, 14 + 3 h (3 h after injection), 15, and 22.
