BM alleviated TBHP-induced ECM degradation in rat chondrocytes. (A and B) PCR and Western blot results showed 0.025 and 0.05 µM BM increased mRNA and protein levels of aggrecan and Collagen II and reduced mRNA and protein levels of MMP 9 and MMP 13. (C) 0.025 and 0.05 µM BM increased Nrf2 level in the nucleus, inhibited keap1 expression and enhanced HO-1 and NQO1 expression, suggesting that BM activated Keap1/Nrf2/ARE signaling pathway.
