Three mice were intravenously injected with an input pool containing transposon mutants (tag2–tag25) together with an avirulent R. equi strain marked with tag1. After 5 days of infection, the semiquantitative analysis of each mutant in an output pool was conducted via real-time PCR, and the ratio of each tag was indicated.
