Immunohistological analysis of nitrotyrosine and IL-1β epitopes in ApoE^−/−mice after bone marrow transplants. Irradiated ApoE^−/− mice were transplanted with ApoE^−/− (N = 7), APOE2 (N = 8), APOE3 (N = 7), and APOE4 (N = 7) bone marrow cells and fed Western diet for 8 weeks. Sections of the aortic roots were stained with antibodies against (A) nitrotyrosine or (B) IL-1β. The scale bar represents 200 μm. The data were evaluated for statistical significance by one-way ANOVA with the Newman–Keuls multiple comparison test to identify differences between groups.
