Fig. 3. — The phylogenetic tree of X and Y haplotype sequences does not group the P. paradoxus Y haplotype with the Tropheus Y haplotypes but supports the species tree, suggesting convergent evolution. The Y haplotype of the non-LT riverine haplochromine O. indermauri groups with the Y haplotypes of the Tropheus species, supporting monophyly of this sex chromosomal system. The scale bar indicates the number of substitutions per site; values at nodes represent bootstrap support (% of 1000 bootstraps, if no value is shown the node support was 100%).
