COVID-19 coronavirus disease 2019, OR odds ratio, CI confidence interval.
Loneliness was measured using the Japanese version of the University of California, Los Angeles Loneliness Scale (Version 3), Short Form 3-item assessment tool.
For loneliness, P values were calculated to compare participants without loneliness to those in the other categories by multinomial logistic regression.
For social isolation, P values were calculated to compare participants who did not feel increased social isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic at all to those in the other categories by multinomial logistic regression.
