TABLE 5.

Viability and IVM of canine oocytes in SOF + BSA + FBS medium for 48 h under low O2 tension atmospheres in the presence or absence of ITS.

Viability and IVM of oocyte after co-staining with propidium iodide (PI) and Hoechst 33342 to determine maturation and cell membrane integrity. The percentages of oocytes in the germinal vesicle or metaphase I (GV + MI), metaphase II (MII), and non-identifiable (NN) stages were recorded simultaneously with cell membrane integrity evaluation after 48 h of IVM. In the same column, percentages with different superscripts differed significantly (a,bp < 0.05). The experiments were repeated three times (n = 3).

BSA, bovine serum albumin; FBS, fetal bovine serum; IVM, in vitro maturation; ITS, insulin-transferrin-selenium; SOF, synthetic oviductal fluid.
