a “Epigenetic age” is estimated based on the regression coefficient calculated from the chronological age and the DNA methylation percentages at TARDBP 3′UTR CpG 10 in the control motor cortex (11 controls). The difference between the epigenetic age and the linear-regression model is defined as “DNA methylation age acceleration” in the ALS cases.
