(A) Oxford Nanopore Technologies’ MinION device and flow cell. (B) Nanopore sequencing process: An ionic current is passed through a nanopore by setting a voltage across the membrane. Single-stranded DNA is funneled through the pore with the help of a motor protein. The current changes depending on the motif of the base motifs that pass through the pore (in 6 bps increments).
