Microvesicles (MVs) or ectosomes are released by direct budding from the plasma membrane. Exosomes are formed by inward invagination of the endosomal limiting membrane, and released after late-sorting endosomes (LSEs) fusion with cell membrane. Exosome contains proteins, DNAs, mRNAs, ncRNAs (miRNAs, long noncoding RNAs and circRNAs) and metabolites. Previously reported EV ncRNAs in CC, OC and EC were listed in the boxes. miRNAs, long noncoding RNAs and circRNAs were respectively labeled in green, orange and blue.
