Doxycycline has no effect on the progression of Tg(FFI-26) motor dysfunction assessed on the accelerating rotarod. (A) Non-Tg and Tg(FFI-26) mice treated with doxy or the vehicle were tested on the accelerating rotarod at the weeks of treatment indicated. Data are the mean ± SEM latency to fall (s) of 13 vehicle- and doxy-treated non-Tg, 12 vehicle-treated Tg(FFI-26) and 13 doxy-treated Tg(FFI-26) mice. A linear mixed-effects model with a first-order autoregressive correlation structure was used. In case of main effects, Bonferroni's post-hoc tests were done. (B) Mice were tested on the accelerating rotarod 6 and 24 weeks after the treatment had been stopped. Data are the mean ± SEM latency to fall (s) of 9 vehicle- and doxy-treated non-Tg, 8 vehicle-treated Tg(FFI-26) and 9 doxy-treated Tg(FFI-26) mice. A three-way analysis of variance for repeated measures (RM ANOVA) was used. In case of interaction effects, additional Bonferroni's post-hoc tests were done.
