Medium composition: 120 mM KCl, 5 mM NaH2PO4, and 10 mM HEPES-KOH buffer (pH 7.4). Respiration of mitochondria was fueled by 2.5 mM glutamate + 2.5 mM malate. Respiration of mitochondria in state 3 was initiated by 200 μM ADP. The data are presented as means ± SEM. * p < 0.05 versus other groups. # p < 0.05 versus mdx group.
