Interaction between autophagy and the IKK–NF-κB axis. Both IKK and NF-κB can enhance autophagy by inducing the expression of autophagy-related proteins. Increased autophagic flux can inhibit IKK signaling by degrading IKK components. NF-κB signaling can act negatively on the autophagic process through the increase in autophagy repressors or through the decrease in autophagy inducers.
