(A) Neuro2a/APPSwe cells showed significantly higher level of BACE1 activity than Neuro2a cells after 48 h of treatment in 1% FBS medium. The enzyme activity correlated with the enzyme concentration. (B) Quercetin (1 µM), a well-known BACE1 inhibitor, significantly decreased the enzyme activity in both cells. BACE1 activity in Neuro2a/APPSwe cells significantly decreased upon treatment with 10 µg/mL of CM extract for 48 h compared to 1% FBS treatment, and it slightly decreased in Neuro2a cells.
