Induction of apoptotic events. DU145 (A) and PC3 (B) prostate cancer cells were incubated with visible light alone (5 min at 1.65 J/cm²) or 0.2 µg/mL curcumin alone for 24 h or were irradiated in the presence of curcumin (curcumin + light). Controls were incubated without curcumin or light. Early and late apoptosis was evaluated as indicated in methods. Dot blots of one representative test of three are shown.
