Forced expression of C/EBPβ and C/EBPα inhibits BALB/MK2 keratinocyte growth. BALB/MK2 keratinocytes were transfected with empty pcDNA3, pcDNA3-C/EBPβ, or pcDNA3-C/EBPα and subsequently subcultured in low-calcium medium in the presence of 500 μg of G418 per ml. The number of colonies per dish and the number of cells per colony were determined at days 3, 5, 7, and 10 of G418 selection.
