Results of longitudinal permutational ANOVA models to assess whether changes in the overall gut microbiota composition over the first three months of the intervention differed by group (DCR versus IMF). Quantitative (weighted UniFrac) and qualitative (unweighted UniFrac) indices of beta-diversity were used as summary measures of the gut microbiota composition among n = 111 samples from 59 individuals (47 samples from 25 DCR / 64 samples from 34 IMF). There were no significant differences between intervention groups in the change in beta-diversity over time.
