All the spoligotypes were typical of M. tuberculosis rather than M. bovis.
The single-copy strains formed three clusters, depending on the position of the single band on the Southern blots.
Spoligotyping was performed at an intermediate stage in the project. The sample tested represents the total number of single-copy isolates at the time.
