Fig. 8 — Differences in the expression of trehalose-6-phosphate synthase (TPS) and trehalose-6-phosphate phosphatase (TPP) gene family members between superior spikelets (SS) and inferior spikelets (IS). RNA was extracted from SS and IS at 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 DAF and then reverse transcribed for qRT-PCR analysis. The value of mRNA level in the 5 DAF SS and 5 DAF IS was set to 1×, and the other SS and IS were calculated relative to this value. The values are the means and SD of 6 replicates from two independent biological measurements. The PCR primers are shown in Table S5
