Histograms of GV from the red component images obtained from biopsies of untreated (blank) skin and from biopsies treated with different concentrations of curcumin. Clean skin possesses maximum GV of ≤33, meaning that greater values that are obtained in image analysis can be attributed to curcumin. Based on the results, the threshold of the red-MGV was set to 33. GV, grey values; MGV, mean grey values.
