A) Experimental Design. Naïve and VacV-GP33 immunized P14 memory CD8 T cell mice underwent sham or CLP (moderate or severe) surgery. After 2 days, the mice received a homologous skin infection with VacV-GP33. Viral titers in the skin were determined 2 days later. B) VacV-GP33 PFU in the skin 2 days after re-infection. Data are pooled from 3 independent experiments with at least 6 mice per group.
