Identification was made to the species level without supplemental testing.
Low level of discrimination; the correct identification was listed among two or more choices. Supplemental testing is required.
This organism produces a red pigment and was originally reported as Rhodotorula rubrum. Both the RapID Yeast Plus and API 20C Aux system identified the organism as Rhodotorula minuta, which is also red pigmented. A species identification could not be made by the assimilation test.
