Pulmonary function testing. Compared with baseline (BL) measurements, there were no significant changes in percent predicted forced expiratory volume in 1 s (FEV1, A), forced vital capacity (FVC, B), or FEV1/FVC ratio (C) during and following hydrogen gas administration. There was a clinically insignificant increase in peak expiratory flow rate over time, perhaps related to improving technique over time.
