High intensity is observed in the striatum and globus pallidus on T2-weighted images (T2WI) at 8 months of age: (a) atrophy of the cerebral cortex and basal ganglia is observed on T2WI at 19 months (b) in patient 1. Low intensity is observed in the putamen, globus pallidus, and caudate nucleus on T1-weighted images (T1WI) at 10 months of age (c) and high intensity is observed in the putamen, globus pallidus, and caudate nucleus on T2WI at 10 months of age (d) in patient 2.
