Signaling mechanisms regulating cofilin activity in the CNS. Cofilin can be dephosphorylated at the Ser-3 residue by SSHs and CIN. Cofilin Ser-3 phosphorylation is mediated by LIMKs and TESKs. These phosphatases and kinases can be activated or inhibited by diverse upstream regulators.
