Omega-3 supplementation lowered overall IL-6 release throughout an acute stressor (p=0.03). Specifically, supplementation with 2.5 g/d of omega-3 resulted in a 33% lower geometric mean of IL-6, compared to the placebo group (p=0.007), but supplementation with 1.25 g/d of omega-3 did not affect IL-6 levels, compared to placebo (p=0.26). Error bars are 95% confidence interval.
