Increasing the initial mutant population size delays extinction and slightly expedites fixation. The figure layout is analogous to figure 4. As we increase S0, we increase the distance between S0 and b, and decrease the distance between S0 and a. Consequently, ψCT|b(τ) condenses about the origin, and ψCT|a(τ) expands from the origin. Equivalently, the moments of CT|b and CT|a increase and decrease, respectively. When S0 is small compared with the population size, we see that ψCT|b(τ) is more sensitive to changes in S0 than ψCT|a(τ). In these plots, r = 2, A = 3 and B = 10.
