Models included the response variable Ixodes pacificus prevalence (presence or absence on a substrate with an offset that consisted of the area flagged for each substrate). All substrate-level prevalence models were analyzed with the package glmmTMB in program R (v 4.0.3). Akaike’s information criterion (AIC) was used to rank all models and select the most parsimonious model with the best fit.
