Additional Table 3.
Heart rate variability bands measures in impaired/not-impaired children for social skills
| Not-impaired > 7 | Impaired ≤ 7 | ||
|---|---|---|---|
| Affect recognition | HF | 7.69 ± 1.06 (n=32) | 7.02 ± 1.23 (n=18) |
| LF | 7.42 ± 0.83 | 7.11 ± 0.85 | |
| VLF | 6.90 ± 0.76 | 6.61 ± 0.77 | |
| %HF | 56.6 ± 11.7* | 48.1 ± 12.8* | |
| Theory of mind | HF | 7.63 ± 1.07 (n=40) | 6.76 ± 1.28 (n=10) |
| LF | 7.41 ± 0.82 | 6.91 ± 0.87 | |
| VLF | 6.86 ± 0.73 | 6.59 ± 0.92 | |
| %HF | 55.3 ± 12.7 | 46.5 ± 11.8 |
The number in the brackets is the number of children with a not-impaired or with an impaired performance to the specific test, the number is the same for all the bands (It means: 32 not impaired and 18 impaired in the Affect Recognition, for all the HRV bands (HF, LF, VLF, %HF: 40 not impaired and 10 impaired in the Theory of mind for all the bands). HF: High-frequency band; LF: low-frequency; VLF: very low-frequency; %HF: normalized high-frequency.* non-zero (significant) difference between groups obtained by Bayesian regression (see Methods). Values are expressed as mean ± SD.
