MCF-7 and RKO cells display high-efficiency uptake of oligonucleotides delivered via transfection with Lipofectin reagent. Cells were treated with 0.3 μM 3′ FITC-labeled control oligonucleotide as described in Materials and Methods. Twenty-four hours later, they were fixed and examined for fluorescence with a confocal microscope. Images were obtained at a magnification of ×800.
