Study timeline. At waves 1 through 3, male and female ex-clients recruited in adolescence completed interviews and questionnaires. At wave 4, both ex-clients, siblings, and their parents completed interviews and questionnaires and provided saliva samples for DNA extraction. At wave 5, healthy women matched on age to the other women completed interviews and questionnaires and provided saliva samples for DNA extraction. Filled in dots represent time-points at which data were used in the current study and empty dots represent time-points at which data were not used in the current study to ensure consistency between the timing of molecular and clinical observations
