Schematic of the recovery and transplantation of rat islet cell sheets from a temperature-responsive dish (TRD) using a gelatin/membrane. Dispersed rat islet cells were seeded into a cloning cylinder, placed on a laminin-332-coated TRD and cultured for 2 days at 37 °C. The islet cell sheets were recovered from TRDs using gelatin/membranes and transplanted onto the liver surface or the subcutaneous spaces of STZ-induced diabetic SCID mice.
