Individual differences in paradoxical facilitation from MEP differences. The association between contralateral inhibition and CS MEP amplitudes while both hands were at rest are plotted separately for each participant. Participants with negative slopes demonstrated paradoxical facilitation. While participants varied somewhat in the degree to which paradoxical facilitation was observed, this variation was small relative to the size of the facilitatory effect and facilitation was observed in 19 of 21 individuals.
