Notes: The presence and evidence of use of wash stations and latrines were based on observation by field workers who were not informed of the randomization allocation. Wash-station use was defined as the presence of water in the wash station container or wet ground surrounding the wash station. Latrine use was defined as the presence of flies, smell or faeces or a wet floor in the latrine. Caregiver-reported face-washing with soap in the past day is reported for children aged 0–5 years and self-reported latrine use in the past day is reported for individuals aged ≥ 10 years. Numerators and denominators for each percentage are available in the data repository.²⁵
