Effect of age on glucose metabolism in degus. Hippocampal slices from 1- to 6-year-old degus were used to assess (A) the NADPH/NADP+ ratio, (B) glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PDH) activity, (C) total ATP, and (D) the ATP/ADP ratio. The data represent the mean ± SEM of five independent biological replicates in three technical replicates.
