HX600 treatment alters morphology of Iba-1 expressing microglia. Microglia in resting state (A) are characterized by long processes and relatively small soma. When the cells get activated (B), their soma gets larger and processes are shortening, which leads to decreased cell perimeter and increased Area/Perimeter – ratio. Quantitative analysis of cell perimeter (C) and area/perimeter – ratio (D) of Iba-1 positive cells, and representative images of the algorithm used to determine the morphology of microglia in mice treated with vehicle (E) or HX600 (F).
